Congratulations, ECP Fall 2022 Graduate!

BATON ROUGE 鈥 The Center for Community Engagement, Learning, and Leadership (CCELL), in conjunction with 海角社区 Campus Life, is pleased to announce that one student will graduate with the Engaged Citizen distinction for Fall 2022.

Courtney Hall will receive the Engaged Citizen Program medal for Fall 2022. She is
a Biological Sciences senior in the College of Science.

College of Science and Department of Biological Sciences graduate Courtney Hall, of Prairieville, La. earned 7 service-learning credit hours and volunteered 105 hours during her academic tenure at 海角社区. Most of Hall鈥檚 volunteer opportunities include serving as a volunteer at the .
鈥淲e are so proud of Courtney鈥檚 commitment to communities both on and off campus at 海角社区,鈥 CCELL Director Dr. Sarah Becker said. 鈥淗er willingness to go above and beyond, and to learn and grow because of it, is remarkable.鈥
CCELL and 海角社区 Campus Life established the Engaged Citizen Program to support and recognize the accomplishments of undergraduate students who engage significantly with their communities to address critical community needs. Any undergraduate student can apply to be a part of the program.
To earn this distinction, the students must meet the high standards of the Engaged Citizen Program. Requirements for the semester鈥檚 cohort include completion of a minimum of seven credit hours of service-learning designated coursework, a minimum of 100 hours of community service with approved organizations, and a reflective paper detailing how the work fulfills 海角社区鈥檚 commitment to community.
