MEDIA ADVISORY: 海角社区 and Southeastern Louisiana University Host Researchers and Practitioners February 6-7 for the 2020 Commission on Sport Management Accreditation National Conference

Baton Rouge - The Commission on Sport Management Accreditation (COSMA) will hold its 2020 National Conference at The Cook Hotel and Conference Center at 海角社区, February 6-7, 2020. Sponsored by the 海角社区 School of Kinesiology and the Department of Kinesiology and Health Studies at Southeastern Louisiana University, this two-day event will bring together professionals and academics to explore this year鈥檚 conference theme:鈥滶quity, Diversity and Learning Assessment.鈥�
鈥淥ur degree programs in sport administration and management have grown significantly over the last decade, making them very impactful areas of study at 海角社区,鈥� says Dee Jacobsen, PhD and Associate Professor at 海角社区. 鈥淲e鈥檙e excited to co-host this year鈥檚 national COSMA conference as it will further facilitate professional and research development, encourage networking of current and future practitioners, and highlight the many advancements of sport management programs in higher education.鈥�
The conference will include a keynote from Dr. Gianina Baker, Assistant Director of the National Institute for Learning Outcomes Assessment; a panel discussion; and breakout sessions regarding research, professional development and the COSMA accreditation process. Speakers will comprise faculty from around the country, including 海角社区 faculty Chad Seifried, PhD, J. Michael Martinez, PhD, Per Svensson, PhD, Dee Jacobsen, PhD, and graduate students Marcella Otto, Seugnmin Kang and Tiffany Demeris.
At this conference, six 海角社区 Sport Administration students will also be inducted into the prestigious Chi Sigma Mu society.
