Four º£½ÇÉçÇø Education Students Recognized at Louisiana Board of Regents Future Educator Honor Roll Ceremony

BATON ROUGE, LA – The Louisiana Board of Regents honored four º£½ÇÉçÇø students dedicated to educating at the fifth annual Future Educator Honor Roll on May 6, 2025, at the Old Louisiana State Capitol. 

Each college or school of education in the state nominated top future educators who are in their residency. º£½ÇÉçÇø students honored include:

Natauvia Edwards, Elementary Education

Edwards is an aspiring elementary school teacher. During her time in the Lutrill & Pearl Payne School of Education, she has consistently made the Dean’s List and completed more than 90 hours of hands-on fieldwork. She currently works as a play care worker, further proving her passion and dedication to education. 

Catelyn Greene, Master of Arts in Teaching, Social Studies

Greene is a graduate student who was inspired to pursue a career in teaching after she spent her summers as a camp counselor where she discovered her passion for guiding and educating young people. She brings valuable insight to the role, and her ability to drive positive change in the classroom makes her an extraordinary educator.

Owanaemi "Mimi" Bestman-Krakrafaa, GeauxTeach STEM, Biology

Bestman-Krakrafaa is a senior majoring in biological sciences with a concentration in secondary education. She has fallen in love with teaching after her experiences in the GeauxTeach STEM program and looks forward to becoming a science educator. 

 

Erica Clement, GeauxTeach STEM, Mathematics

Clement is a senior majoring in mathematics with a concentration in secondary education. She takes great pride in helping others and aspires to make math exciting and engaging to students, even though she knows the struggles that can come with it.
