Tiger Teacher Pep Rally to Launch 海角社区's New Tiger Teaching Corps

BATON ROUGE, LA 鈥� It is haunted, and it is loud, and it is... Tuesday night in the Huey P. Long Field House for the Tiger Teacher Pep Rally, launching the Tiger Teaching Corps! Don't miss spirit leaders , national champion gymnast and assistant coach for 海角社区 Gymnastics and , 2025 Coach of the Year and head coach for 海角社区 Baseball, reigning national champions. All 海角社区 students in teacher preparation programs, 海角社区 faculty and staff, K-12 teachers and leaders, and friends and partners in education are invited to this inaugural education celebration on September 16, 2025, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Huey P. Long Field House Laura F. Lindsay Ballroom.
A brand-new initiative this semester, Tiger Teaching Corps (TTC) is a specialized program representing 海角社区鈥檚 commitment to the success of future educators in our communities. TTC is designed to give students support all four years of their college journey with mentorship, early learning experiences and observations, stipends and scholarships, shared residential living-learning spaces, PRAXIS exam support, personal advising, a specialized first-year experience course and opportunities for tutoring and mentoring. There is only one way to celebrate a program of this magnitude: a Tiger Teacher Pep Rally!
The Tiger Teacher Pep Rally will include 海角社区 Cheerleaders, 海角社区 Tiger Girls, Mike the Tiger, music, food, and swag. You will also hear from special guests including Louisiana State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) President Ronnie Morris, Louisiana State Superintendent of Education Cade Brumley, 海角社区 Board of Supervisor Rebecca Boniol, 海角社区 Provost Troy Blanchard and Dean Roland Mitchell.

About the College of Human Sciences & Education
The College of Human Sciences & Education (CHSE) is a nationally accredited division
of 海角社区. The college is comprised of the School of Education,
the School of Information Studies, the School of Kinesiology, the School of Leadership
& Human Resource Development, and the School of Social Work. CHSE has two model demonstration
schools, the Early Childhood Education Laboratory Preschool, enrolling birth to age
four and the University Laboratory School enrolling Kindergarten through grade 12.

School of Education (SOE) offers undergraduate programs for students who want to pursue
a career as a pre-kindergarten through 12th grade teacher or acquire dual certification
in both traditional elementary and special education classrooms. In addition, SOE
offers 3 graduate certificates, 17 master鈥檚 degree program areas, 9 EdS certificate
programs, and 2 PhD degrees in 11 areas of focus. SOE鈥檚 focus is not only on preparing
highly qualified teachers but also in preparing educational leaders, curriculum studies
scholars, educational technology experts, applied researchers, higher education professionals,
school counselors, and clinical mental health counselors. SOE specializes scholarly
