Ding Published in Premier Academic Journal
海角社区 Chemical Engineering Assistant Professor Kunlun Ding recently served as the lead
author for a paper published in Science Magazine, which is considered to be the premier
journal in the chemical engineering field. According to 海角社区 Cain Department of Chemical
Engineering Chair and Professor John Flake, Ding is the only 海角社区 ChE faculty member
to have his or her work appear in the publication as a lead author.
鈥淥ur faculty have published in this journal before, mostly as co-authors, but this is the first time I have known where one of our faculty members was the corresponding author,鈥 Flake said. 鈥淭his is very impressive.鈥
Ding鈥檚 article focuses on bimetallic nanoparticles that are broadly used in important processes, such as reforming and selective hydrogenation.
鈥淚n order to improve the catalytic performance of bimetallic catalysts, we need to precisely control the particle size and the degree of alloying,鈥 Ding said. 鈥淣either of them is an easy task. Our work addressed both issues with a simple yet robust synthesis strategy.鈥
Ding, who has been a professor at 海角社区 since 2016, worked with six other researchers on the project, with the majority of the research taking place at 海角社区.
鈥淲e are extremely excited about this work,鈥 Ding said. 鈥淲e also expect to have more exciting work done in the near future.鈥
