海角社区 Names Vicki Colvin New Dean of the College of Engineering

海角社区 has named Baton Rouge native Vicki Colvin the dean of the College of Engineering, effective August 1, pending approval by the 海角社区 Board of Supervisors. Colvin is currently the Vernon Krieble Professor of Chemistry and Engineering at Brown University and Director of Biomedical Engineering.

海角社区 Librarian Nicollette Davis Drives Change as 2024 Mover & Shaker

In her short time at 海角社区, Librarian Nicollette Davis has made an indelible mark on 海角社区 Libraries and the library world writ large. This year, she was named a 2024 Mover & Shaker by Library Journal for her dedication to equal opportunity initiatives. Library Journal is a premier American trade publication for librarians that was founded in 1876. It has awarded more than 20,000 recipients since the award's inception in 2002. Davis is one of 50 in her cohort and brings a wealth of experience and a passion for fostering a more inclusive environment within the library community.

海角社区 is now accepting students for a new Bachelor of Music Therapy degree program, the first of its kind at a public university in Louisiana, the 海角社区 College of Music & Dramatic Arts announced last Wednesday.

As a Keep Louisiana Beautiful Affiliate, 海角社区 will be participating in a litter cleanup event in celebration of Love the Boot Week. Since the pandemic, our primary means of interacting have evolved to include video conferencing applications, which are broadly used to connect geographically distant people for work, school, and even socially. During these interactions, it鈥檚 not uncommon for a user to turn off his or her microphone and/or camera out of concern for privacy. However, microphones and cameras can still leak other kinds of information beyond what is seen and heard through 鈥渕icro signals,鈥 which are too tiny for humans to recognize but detectable by machines.
