Biography

Daena Jean Carrillo is an Assistant Professor of Professional Practice in the School of Information Studies at 海角社区. She received her doctorate in Cultural Preservation/Archival Studies from 海角社区. Dr. Carrillo is expanding on her research further with a second doctorate, a Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences. She previously earned a MLIS and CARST at 海角社区. Before joining 海角社区, Dr. Carrillo previously held positions as a Project Archivist with the Kenan Research Center at the Atlanta History Museum and the Cuba Family Archives for Southern Jewish History at The Breman Museum in Atlanta, Georgia. Her research interests include archival approach and response to the preservation of community archives, ecological knowledge, and ecosystem services.
