海角社区 Students Place 2nd at the 2024 LASHRM Case Competition
海角社区, represented by two teams, attended the 2024 LASHRM Case Competition. The teams were made up of students from the School of Leadership and Human Resource Development and the Rucks School of Management. At the conclusion of the event, one 海角社区 team landed 2nd place in the state-wide event.

$4.5 Million Grant to Study and Improve Faculty Evaluation Practices | CHSE
Tracey Rizzuto, professor in the School of Leadership & Human Resource Development, is 海角社区 PI, and Christiane Spitzm眉eller, professor at UC Merced, is the lead investigator for the $4.5 million NSF grant that will create a center to study and improve faculty evaluation practices.

Gunaldo Selected as One of 10 海角社区 Global Ambassadors
Our students strive to #GeauxChangeLives, and that's exactly how Maya Gunaldo, 海角社区 CHSE junior, spent her spring break. Gunaldo, a Leadership & Human Resource Development major, was one of 10 海角社区 students chosen to be selected to travel to Ghana with 海角社区's Global Ambassadors Program (GAP).

Mitchell Leads Multi-Institutional Effort with NASEM Grant Researching Safer Offshore Energy Systems
The 海角社区 School of Leadership & Human Resource Development (SHLRD) proudly announced Tyree Mitchell, PhD, was one of five research teams awarded a prestigious grant from the Gulf Research Program (GRP) of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM). Mitchell's grant aims to support projects focused on enhancing safety culture and safety management systems (SMS) in the offshore energy industry.

The Eyes of Freedom with 'Silent Battle' will be on display at the 海角社区 Huey P. Long Field House in Baton Rouge March 4 - 8, 2024, hosted by the 海角社区 Veterans Resource Center, the Wounded Warrior Project, and the 海角社区 College of Human Sciences & Education.

Ed Holton Selected for AHRD Hall of Fame
According to the Academy of Human Resource Development, "The HRD Scholar Hall of Fame Award is presented to scholars in human resource development and related disciplines who have made enduring contributions to the Academy's mission of Leading Human Resource Development through Research." Upon reflecting on his work, service, and devotion, it comes as no surprise that Professor Emeritus Elwood "Ed" Holton, EdD, has been selected for the AHRD Scholar Hall of Fame Award.

Sunyoung Park Named One of Six 海角社区 Rainmakers for Research Excellence and Creative Activity
Sunyoung Park, PhD, associate professor, is one of six 海角社区 faculty members named a Rainmaker for Research and Creative Activity. Rainmakers are faculty members who balance their teaching and research responsibilities while extending the impact of their work to the world beyond academia.
