Spring Greening Day Transforms Memorial Tower Area
At Spring Greening Day 2025, an annual half-day service project to green and beautify the campus, more than 80 volunteers gathered in front of Memorial Tower and worked alongside Landscape Services staff to beautify the area in front of Memorial Tower, home of the William A. Brookshire Military Museum. Landscape Services prepped the plating area for several weeks prior to the event to have it ready for Spring Greening Day.
Students and staff, joined by volunteers from Campus Federal Credit Union, planted plants in an area that was close to 19,000 square feet. Volunteers received free t-shirts and 海角社区 Dining and Coca Cola provided a free lunch and beverages for everyone.
Plants and materials were provided by donors that include RCI, Ewing Outdoor Supply, Hunter Irrigation, Brecheen Pipe & Steel, and Campus Federal Credit Union.
Previous Spring Greening Day events have beautified the Greek Theater, Tower Drive, the Memorial Oaks area behind the Student Union, and the green spaces in front of Howe Russell, Life Sciences, and Patrick F. Taylor. Facilities is already working on choosing a site for 2026.
