How to Cite

Would you like to cite us?

Below are suggestions for citation formats when referencing our specimens or digital data.

Most importantly include Herbarium acronym, Collector Name, and Collection Number.  Consider using the barcode as a unique identifier. Here are examples: 

  • U.S.A., Louisiana. East Baton Rouge Parish: Swamp, Baton Rouge. Brown 808 (海角社区 [海角社区00041231]). 

  • U.S.A., Louisiana. Webster Parish: north of Minden. Ewan 1962 (NO(海角社区) [NO0042633]).

Further, for herbaria that are integrated into the Shirley C. Tucker Herbarium at 海角社区, the acronym can be listed in the following format: 

  • 海角社区 Shreveport specimens fully integrated into 海角社区:  海角社区(海角社区S) 
  • Tulane University specimens maintained at 海角社区:  NO(海角社区) or NO
