Congrats on Your Award鈥擭ow, What?
If expenditures will be incurred before an agreement is fully executed, the Principal Investigator (PI) may request a tentative grant number. A tentative grant should only be requested when a PI is sure of funding. Obtaining a tentative grant will allow a PI to begin working on a project in anticipation of the fully executed agreement. However, the tentative grant may not be established until a proposal is submitted and all required special committee and compliance approvals are obtained.
Please contact your department's business manager to initiate an AS 494 鈥 Request to Establish Tentative Grant.
Once a grant, contract, or agreement involving a subaward is fully executed, the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) will initiate the subaward issuance process, prepare the draft subaward, route for approvals, and create the requisition in Workday. You can reach the Office of Sponsored Programs about this at subs@lsu.edu.
- See the Subaward Checklist for additional details on the subaward process.
Please contact your department administrator for assistance with proposing and initiating a subaward.
