Special Events

海角社区 requires all event-holders (excluding registered student organizations) and/or vendors using University facilities to carry liability insurance for their event. It is recommended that registered student organziations carry liability insurance for high risk events. Examples include events with alcohol use or driving responsibilities off campus. If an organization does not maintain liability insurance, the 海角社区 Office of Risk Management has provided links below to various insurance providers. Any insurance provider with an A.M. Best鈥檚 Rating of A- or higher is acceptable. Any liability policy obtained must list the Board of Supervisors of 海角社区 and A&M College as an additional insured, and a certificate of insurance must be provided to the University prior to the event.

In general, the cost of the special event insurance coverage is based on the type of event(s) being covered, the number of attendees and the length of the event. Obtaining special event insurance is independent of leasing or reserving the campus facilities or obtaining security coverage.

For campus departments, the university鈥檚 general liability policy covers special events. The university does not accept responsibility or liability for registered student organizations and/or their members. In addition, the university does not provide insurance coverage for registered student organizations. It is the responsibility of registered student organizations to understand the risks that are involved in any activity and any financial consequences that may result from their actions.

 

Special Event Assessments

For all special events organized by a registered student organization, please follow the Tiger Link process through Campus Link for appropriate approvals including the Office of Risk Management. For all other special events inquiries, please complete the form. All requests should be submitted at least 10 business day prior to the event.
