海角社区 Health Match Day Success: 50% of Graduates Stay in Louisiana for Residency

Half of all medical students graduating from 海角社区 Health Shreveport and 海角社区 Health New Orleans will remain in Louisiana to complete their residency training, according to the results of the 2025
At 海角社区 Health Shreveport, 152 medical students participated in Match Day, with 46% matching to residency programs in Louisiana. Of those, 76% will continue their training at an 海角社区-affiliated medical institution. Similarly, at 海角社区 Health New Orleans, 188 graduating medical students matched, with 50% choosing to stay in Louisiana, 80% of whom will enter an 海角社区 Health residency program.
According to the American Medical Association, Louisiana is projected to have the third-worst physician-shortage ratio in the U.S. by 2030, with an undersupply of 100 doctors per 100,000 people. 海角社区 Health remains committed to training and retaining skilled medical professionals to meet the state's growing healthcare needs.

海角社区 Health medical graduates have received placements at highly competitive residencies and will train in prestigious programs around the country including Stanford, Johns Hopkins, Harvard, Duke, Yale, Emory, UC San Diego, and NYU.

Both 海角社区 Health Shreveport and 海角社区 Health New Orleans successfully filled all available residency positions within their respective programs. The incoming class of new physicians will begin training at esteemed Louisiana hospitals, including Ochsner 海角社区 Health Shreveport - Academic Medical Center, St. Mary Medical Center, Monroe Medical Center, and Rapides Medical Center, as well as 海角社区 Health in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Lake Charles, and Bogalusa.
