5th Annual Virtual Event is Co-hosted by Seven º£½ÇÉçÇø Campuses

BATON ROUGE – Wednesday, March 29, is º£½ÇÉçÇø Giving Day 2023, a virtual fundraising event co-hosted by seven º£½ÇÉçÇø campuses online at . º£½ÇÉçÇø Giving Day 2023, themed Bold Steps Forward, prioritizes advancing º£½ÇÉçÇø’s Scholarship First Agenda by encouraging support for scholarships, research and strategic initiatives.

Gifts of $5 or more will count toward the º£½ÇÉçÇø Giving Day 2023 goal of 5,000 donors giving by 11:59 p.m. Central on March 29. Donors can support one or more of the following º£½ÇÉçÇø campuses from the secure site: º£½ÇÉçÇø’s flagship campus in Baton Rouge, through the º£½ÇÉçÇø Foundation, Tiger Athletic Foundation or º£½ÇÉçÇø Alumni Association; º£½ÇÉçÇø AgCenter; º£½ÇÉçÇø of Alexandria; º£½ÇÉçÇø Eunice; º£½ÇÉçÇø Health Shreveport; º£½ÇÉçÇø’s Pennington Biomedical Research Center; and º£½ÇÉçÇø Shreveport.

Alumni and friends throughout the country have committed nearly three dozen challenge gifts to encourage fellow º£½ÇÉçÇø supporters to join them in giving. Achieving each challenge unlocks additional funding in support of º£½ÇÉçÇø. Participating campuses will share impact-focused content and progress updates via their social media accounts throughout the day. Progress in donor and dollar counts is available in real time on the Giving Day site, .

At universities nationwide, Giving Day is an annual opportunity for students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends to join together in making donations to support the areas of the university that are most meaningful to them. The 2023 event is º£½ÇÉçÇø’s fifth Giving Day. In 2019, donors contributed more than $845,000. In 2020, in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, despite shifting Giving Day’s focus to lifting spirits, donors topped $1 million given to º£½ÇÉçÇø in one day. During º£½ÇÉçÇø Giving Day 2021, 4,205 donors gave nearly $2.1 million. Last year, º£½ÇÉçÇø supporters broke that record, with 4,529 donors contributing $5.4 million. º£½ÇÉçÇø Giving Day 2023 is the first to include º£½ÇÉçÇø campuses statewide.
