When the Louisiana Secretary of State called looking for experts to oversee the formulation of thousands of gallons of hand sanitizer to combat the coronavirus, 海角社区 chemistry Ph.D. student Anthony Mai and his advisor, 海角社区 Chemistry Chair John Pojman, agreed to help.

鈥淭his highlights the value of an institution like 海角社区, where we were able to respond quickly in the midst of a crisis,鈥 Pojman said. 鈥淥ur work was a partnership between Prison Enterprises, the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, the Governor鈥檚 Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, local industry, and 海角社区.鈥
