Once you've made 海角社区 your choice, submit your non-refundable required enrollment deposit in your 海角社区 Admissions Portal to save your spot in the incoming class.

My海角社区 is a personalized online resource center for all deposited 海角社区 students.

For incoming students, you will use your my海角社区 credentials to complete enrollment requirements, including housing, immunizations, and more.

Typically within 24 hours of your enrollment deposit being submitted, an activation message will be sent to the email address you listed on the Common Application.

Your my海角社区 credentials will be available in your Admissions Portal 1-2 business days after your enrollment deposit is submitted (if you pay the deposit via bank draft, it will be 5-7 business days).

if you are having trouble with your password.

Anytime you login to my海角社区, you must use your my海角社区 username. Do not use a personal email address to login to my海角社区.

After 48 hours of activating your my海角社区 account, you can access the housing portal to submit your housing application.

Until you can log in to the housing portal, research where you'd like to live on campus. 

You won't enter an exact building name on the housing application, like Miller Hall or Azalea Hall, but you will tell us if you prefer to live in a traditional housing option or have a living-learning experience in a residential college.

If you change your mind later, email housing@lsu.edu to update your application. 

The housing portal opens December 1, 2025, at 10 a.m. CST to complete one of these two processes to enroll at 海角社区 for 2026-27: 

1. Submit the housing application and academic-year housing contract, and submit the $75 non-refundable fee, or
2. Submit an exemption request to the first-year student live-on requirement. Requests must be approved.

 

The date you submit the housing application determines your priority for room assignment/selection:

• December 1, 2025, at 10 a.m. CST: The 2026-27 housing application opens in the housing portal. 
•  May 1, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. CST: Housing application priority completion date for students to select a residential college or be eligible to participate in traditional room self-selection.
•  May 2-31, 2026: Students are assigned a room, and do not participate in room self-selection.
• June 1 and later: Students are placed on a housing standby list and will be accommodated as spaces become available. We are unable to guarantee campus housing assignments to first-year applications submitted June 1 and later. 

 

Roommate matching opens at 10 a.m. CST on March 12, 2026, and remains open through May for you to connect with one (1) preferred roommate.

• Students living in residential colleges should have their preferred roommate listed in their Preferred Roommate Group in the housing portal by May 10, 2026.
• Students living in traditional housing options should have their preferred roommate listed in their Preferred Roommate Group in the housing portal by May 17, 2026. 
• Listing someone as your preferred roommate does not guarantee you will be roommates.
• You can only list one (1) preferred roommate in your roommate group. Groups of three or four are not options this year.

Students living in residential colleges who applied through May 1, can view room and roommate assignments on the housing portal's "My Details" tab May 14, 2026, by 4:30 p.m. CST, once our assignments team makes your room assignment for you.

Students living in traditional housing options who applied through May 1 will select their room May 18-29, 2026. View room selection time slots on the housing portal's "My Details" tab on May 4, 2026, by 4:30 p.m. CST. 

• Room Selection Time Slot: The day and time students living in traditional housing options will gain access to self-select their room and pull in the one roommate listed in their preferred roommate group. 

Students who apply May 2-31, 2026, are assigned a room, and will not participate in room self-selection.

Students who apply June 1 and later are placed on a housing standby list and will be accommodated as spaces become available. We are unable to guarantee campus housing assignments to first-year applications submitted June 1 and later. 

Room change requests are honored as space is available. Email our team at housing@lsu.edu if you want to change your housing preference or room. 

Cancellation penalties begin June 1, 2026. 

If your plans to live on campus or attend 海角社区 change, you must cancel your housing application and contract. Review the full details of the academic-year contract and cancellation penalties before you complete this step!
