Early Credit
海角社区 accepts AP, IB, CLEP, dual enrollment, and other credit. All official documents must be sent in for evaluation. View the charts below for more information.
ACT and SAT scores, as well as 海角社区 placement exams are also used to award credit. Please visit the 海角社区 Course Placement page to view those charts.
Advanced Placement credit is granted in appropriate subjects to freshmen who earn a specific score on Advanced Placement subject examinations, as specified in the chart provided. Students should send their AP scores to 海角社区 through the College Board (海角社区 code: 6373).

海角社区 allows credit on CLEP subject examinations in 16 areas; however, credit is not allowed for CLEP general examinations. Policies governing minimum required scores and the acceptance of credit are established by the appropriate academic departments. Departmental course credit recommendations for satisfactory scores on CLEP subject examinations are included in the table provided. Department recommendations are subject to change. CLEP scores must be sent through the College Board (海角社区 code: 6373).

International Baccalaureate credit may be granted in appropriate subjects to freshmen who earn a grade of 4 or better on the IB higher level examinations. Credit is not allowed for IB subsidiary level examinations. Policies governing minimum required scores and the acceptance of credit of IB examinations are established by the National Council on the Evaluation of Foreign Credentials and by the appropriate academic departments. International Baccalaureate credit should be sent officially to 海角社区 through the testing agency.

Dual Enrollment
Program Overview
海角社区 has a Concurrent Enrollment Program especially designed for high school students who demonstrate the maturity and scholastic ability to be successful in college work. Participation in this program permits exceptional high school seniors to enroll in one or more courses at 海角社区 when space, faculty, and other facilities are available. Students enrolled in this program will be required to attend classes on 海角社区鈥檚 campus.
Requirements to Participate
Students interested in concurrent enrollment must meet the following requirements:
- GPA of 3.00
- composite ACT score of 27 or SAT score of 1210
- recommendation from high school principal or counselor for enrollment in a specific course or courses
- must have completed the most advanced courses offered by their school in the academic areas in which they wish to enroll or must be considered qualified for the college course by the principal or counselor
Cost
Students who participate in concurrent enrollment at 海角社区 are responsible for all costs associated with attending 海角社区. These costs may include, but are not limited to, tuition and fees, a student parking permit, and books.
Immunization
Louisiana law requires immunization against measles, mumps, rubella, and tetanus-diphtheria, as well as a tuberculosis screening for all first-time 海角社区 students. This includes students who are participating in concurrent enrollment. Students should submit their records to the 海角社区 Student Health Center prior to attending class.
Application
Continued concurrent enrollment requires renewed approval each semester. Complete the Concurrent Enrollment Program form to get started.
Math Courses
Students who are interested in taking a course in MATH 1550 or higher must receive a passing score on the ALEKS test. Scores must be submitted to Office of Enrollment Management prior to enrolling in a course.
The allows eligible high school students to receive credit for specific college courses. These courses are facilitated at the student鈥檚 high school by teachers who have been certified by 海角社区 to participate in the program.
海角社区 will accept all dual enrollment credit from four-year institutions, as well as academic-based, college-level credit from two-year institutions. Use the Tiger Transfer Tables to see how credit will transfer to 海角社区.
Students who enroll in any dual enrollment courses for college credit must attain a 2.0 college GPA. Students will need to request the college or university that awarded credit to send an official transcript to the address below. Transcripts can also be sent through eSCRIP-SAFE.
